Why students use it

Most students know the theory. Marks are lost on exam technique, and on leaving revision too late. Companion is built to fix both, a little every week.

Exam practice every single week

Two or three exam-style questions a week, most of them on a real, recent case study, written in your board's style. Exam technique becomes a habit, not a last-minute scramble.

Feedback in about a minute

Every answer is marked on the page: an estimated mark, what went well, what to change, and part of your own answer rewritten to the next level. No waiting a week for it to come back.

See what a top answer looks like

Once your answer is marked, open the model answer and compare how it uses the data, builds a chain of reasoning and evaluates.

Know exactly where you stand

Units done, scores by topic, your weakest areas and a working-at band that updates as you go. The band is a guide to your level, not a predicted grade.

A plan that keeps you on track

A Monday plan, a midweek reminder and a Friday summary, paced to your exam date. If you fall behind, it shows how many units a week will get you back on pace, and Sunday recall questions keep earlier topics fresh.

Everything for each topic in one place

Each unit links the interactive lesson, the worksheet with answers, the diagrams and the chains of analysis for that topic. The full Exam Toolkit is included.

How it fits alongside your lessons

Companion doesn't replace your teacher. It turns what you learn in class into regular, marked exam practice.

Studying at school or college

Pick the unit your class is on this week, or follow the plan in order. Units can be done in any order, and finished ones stay open for revision.

Revising on your own

Work through the whole course at your own pace, or focus on one part of it, starting with the topics you find hardest.

Having lessons with me

Companion is included with my tuition. I can read your marked answers before our next lesson, so we spend the time on what you need.

  1. LearnThe topic's interactive lesson, with the worksheet and answer key.
  2. QuizAbout 15 questions, with an explanation for every answer.
  3. Exam questionsAnswer on the page, typed or as photos of your handwriting, and get your feedback.
  4. Compare and move onRead the model answer, see your progress, and the plan sets up next week.

For parents

If your child adds you, you get a short progress email every fortnight: units done, marks and whether they are on pace for their exam, plus a gentle note if they go quiet. You see progress, never their written answers.

Built and tested by an experienced economics tutor, on real student answers, against the exam specification. Marking is practice feedback to help your child improve, not an official mark.

Questions

How much time does it take each week?

About one to two hours: the lesson, a ten-minute quiz and two or three exam questions. You can split it across the week.

Does it replace my teacher?

No. It works alongside school, college or tuition, turning what you learn into regular exam practice with feedback.

Is the mark an official mark?

No. It is practice feedback against the exam specification, to show you what to improve. Your teacher and your exam board decide your real marks.

Can I do the units out of order?

Yes. Open any unit at any time, make it this week's unit, or focus the plan on one part of the course.

What does "until your exams" mean?

One payment gives you access until 31 July 2027. It doesn't renew, so there is nothing to cancel. If you buy in June or July, it runs to the end of July the following year.

Can I cancel the monthly plan?

Yes, any time, from your account. You keep access to the end of the month you have paid for.
